Recycling Claims Victory at the 2020 Olympics
There were many memorable moments at the 2020 summer Olympic games in Japan. But behind the competition and triumphs, recycling of all sorts was taking place. Uniforms for torchbearers were made from recycled bottles from Coca-Cola. Some of the podiums made from recovered plastic waste from the oceans will be recycled into bottles. Medals were made using metals recovered from used mobile phones, cardboard beds will be recycled into paper products after use, and the Olympic torches were made from construction waste.
How can you become a recycling champion? Participate in curbside recycling to be part of the circular economy and reduce waste. It’s medal-worthy!
