Recycling Counts™ in So Many Ways!

There are countless benefits of recycling! Let’s take a look at how recycling results in environmental benefits and economic advantages.

As used plastic packaging is recycled, it reduces the amount of waste sent to landfills and incinerators. Instead of ending up in a landfill, used packaging is sent to a recycling center, where it is turned into recycled resin to make new packaging and other useful products. This makes great use of recovered plastics that would otherwise go to waste. Using recycled plastics conserves natural resources, saves energy, and decreases pollution by reducing the need to collect new raw materials. Recycling also supplies manufacturers with feedstock to produce sustainable packaging containing recycled material.

Recycling impacts the economy as well with job creation in the recycling and manufacturing industries. These jobs create tax revenue for communities and states. In addition, recycled PET and HDPE plastics can be manufactured anywhere recycling centers exist instead of being limited to places where natural resources occur.
